Role Description

BNC urgently requires an Open Pit Production /Drill & Blast Engineer to be based at one of our ASX listed client sites in Kalgoorlie for a fixed term of 12 months. Graduate Engineers who have strong experience in Drill & Blast are encouraged to apply.

 

This is a contract role for an Open Pit Production /Drill & Blast Engineer, located on-site in Kalgoorlie, WA. The role is offered on an 8 on 6 off roster FIFO basis out of Perth, but preference will be given to residential Kalgoorlie based candidates. The Production /Drill & Blast Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing drilling and blasting operations and daily and weekly plans. Day-to-day tasks include daily reporting, ensuring compliance to plan, preparing weekly plan, analysing drilling sites, preparing detailed drill and blast plans, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and working closely with the operations team to optimize drilling and blasting activities. This role involves regular fieldwork to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of weekly plan with respect to load and haul and drill and blast operations.

 

Qualifications

• Experience in production engineering including weekly planning and daily reporting and minor design work.

• Experience in drill and blast engineering, including planning and executing drilling and blasting operations.

• Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to drilling and blasting.

• Proficient in using software (Surpac & Shot Plus) for designing drill and blast plans.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

• Relevant degree in Mining Engineering or a related field

• Previous experience in an open-pit mining environment is a plus

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Must have full working rights in Australia.
