UNDERGROUND MANAGER

About the Role

Wiluna Mining is entering an exciting new phase of growth, underpinned by the advancement of the Golden Age Underground Restart Project – a key driver of the company’s future success. 

With underground rehabilitation and diamond drilling currently being advanced to support resource re estimation and detailed mine planning, this is a rare opportunity to join at the front end of a restart and help shape the underground operation.

The Underground Manager will lead underground operations through rehabilitation, dewatering and a restart to production, playing a key role in building the underground team and operational capability required to support the restart.

The role will be responsible for all aspects of operational readiness and execution of underground activities including multiple UG capital projects.

Skills & experience

Essential:

• Extensive experience related to mechanised underground mining operations

• Strong leadership experience managing technical teams (mine engineers, geotech, geology, survey)

• Exposure to different mining methods (Air leg, long hole open stope)

• Proven experience managing underground mining contractors, with strong capability in contract cost management and performance tracking.

Qualifications:

• WA First Class Mine Manager Certificate

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering

Desirable:

• Previous underground restart experience

• Open pit mining experience

• Feasibility study experience
